BON SOL is a bold reimaging of coastal apartment living. A 1970s Burleigh Heads penthouse transformed into a serene architectural sanctuary in the sky, BON SOL is a testament as to what is possible when vision leads and craft follows. Designed entirely from photorealistic renders and delivered by BARLOW with no formal drawings, the residence required every detail to be understood, interpreted, and resolved directly in place.

Placing absolute trust in craftsmanship, every gesture was realised on site. Hidden doorways, frameless reveals, and sculptural transitions were decoded through direct collaboration between designer and builder - pushing construction into an expressive, almost artistic practice.

Moving with a quiet fluidity, BON SOL replaces thresholds with concealed transitions so the apartment reads as one continuous space. Ocean-facing living zones open to the view, while private suites and functional areas hide within bespoke joinery, including a sculptural bookshelf wall that slides back to reveal a fully concealed kitchen. A rich palette of warm oak, natural stone brushed brass, and hand-applied render sets a calm, textural tone with subtle integrated lighting that allows proportion and materiality to take the lead.

As a whole, BON SOL represents a measured departure from convention, shaped through collaboration and craftsmanship at its most exacting.
